Yes, even today there is space for contemplation and for joy.  As I plug away at all those tasks that seem so urgent I can still pause by the window, lift my eyes to the sky and my thoughts to God—even if just for the two minutes it takes for the teakettle to come to a boil.  It's the liturgy of this hour, of this little moment where I lean against the kitchen counter and remember who and Whose I am.  And it can be enough.

 

I hope to share here, at The Kitchen Window Chapel, some little thoughts, images and verses that might inspire your own pauses for reflection today, or any day.  There are also some longer posts I've written, and excerpts from the book I'm working on, for times when you're looking for a little more substance.
